To mark its 30th anniversary, Neptune hosted an intimate two-day press retreat at Kin House. Bringing together journalists and industry experts, the event celebrated three decades of timeless design, considered craftsmanship, and a commitment to creating homes and products built to last. We caught up with the brand team to learn more about the inspiration behind the event and how it all came together.
What drew you to Kin House for Neptune’s 30th anniversary celebrations, and which details at Kin House most closely aligned with your own design philosophy?
“As Neptune marks its 30 year anniversary, we wanted a setting for our press retreat that felt both celebratory and quietly assured. Kin House has that rare balance: historic character, generous proportions, and an ease that invites people to settle in.
There’s also a meaningful pull back to Wiltshire, the county where Neptune first began, making this gathering feel like a homecoming, not just a party. From the layered textures and natural light to the considered craftsmanship and unfussy elegance, the house echoes our design ethos – timeless, practical, and beautifully lived-in. It was the perfect choice event setting for us.”
What was your favourite space in the house?
“The Garden House quickly became our favourite corner of Kin House. Capturing perfectly the essence of ‘bringing the outside in’, a principle central to our own design philosophy, the whole space was bathed in natural light.
Offering an easy connection to the Wiltshire landscape, we used this space flexibly throughout our stay, including our welcoming drinks and nibbles, brand immersion sessions and even an early-morning sound bath. It was such a versatile space.”

We loved the Neptune pieces layered throughout the house. How did you approach dressing the spaces?
“When it came to dressing each room, we approached it as we would a real home: intentionally layered, effortlessly tactile and grounded in natural materials. We wanted our products to blend seamlessly into Kin House which meant we had to work with the house’s architecture whilst ensuring each room felt unmistakably Neptune.
We used our ‘Neptune Icons’ throughout the property to create focal points for press – be that the Henley Curved Cabinet standing proudly in the Hearth Room, the Chichester Open Dresser providing the backdrop for our keynote speakers or the Long Island Sofa giving journalists a much-needed space for relaxation. These Neptune classics embody everything we stand for as a brand, so it was exciting to weave them into the fabric of the property.”
In three words, how would you describe the two days at Kin House?
“Intimate, considered and luxurious.”
The panel discussion explored lasting design and resisting short-lived trends. Can you share any key insider takeaways?
“In a world of fast interiors and trend-led aesthetics, Neptune has always chosen the path less trodden. Neptune consciously steps away from the cycle of seasonal trends, focusing instead on the quiet power of longevity.
We believe that if something is made with integrity from honest, natural materials, it shouldn’t have to be replaced. By championing timeless silhouettes and superior craftsmanship over disposable fads, we create homeware that ages gracefully. Our goal is to design for life, ensuring our pieces remain as relevant and beautiful in thirty years as they are today.
Our expert panel session unpacked why this is a better way of designing, both for the planet and for people, and how this approach has served the brand really well over the past three decades.”
What was the inspiration behind your signature cocktail Considered Craft, and can you share the recipe?
“At Neptune, considered craft sits at the heart of everything we make and has done for 30 years. Following the founder’s original vision of creating pieces with a centenary mindset, our products are designed and built to last.
We work with skilled makers and time-honoured techniques to ensure quality and integrity across every single product in our portfolio. When we had the opportunity to get playful with personalised cocktail menus, it felt an obvious choice.”
