FAQ

Will I have help planning my event?

Yes of course! Our planners are the most organised people we know and love getting into the finer details. They’ll be on-hand to guide you through the planning process every step of the way.

What is the guest area on your website?

Our Guest Area is a handy planning tool featuring lots of key information about the house and grounds. Need some measurements? Look no further. You’ll need a password to access the area, which will be sent to you after your event booking is confirmed.

Do you have a list of recommended suppliers?

We have a carefully chosen list of florists, calligraphers, photographers, bakers and more who share our sense of style and ethos.

What is your maximum capacity?

Our biggest space, Kilvert Hall, has a capacity of 200.

Do you have an outdoor area for civil ceremonies?

Yes, we have an oak arbour next to the walled garden which fulfils the Registration Office requirements. We can hold outdoor ceremonies between April and September, weather permitting.

Can we use confetti?

Definitely. We just ask that you use dried flower petals.

Can we use fireworks or sparklers?

Sadly we don’t allow fireworks or sparklers.

Do you have disabled access?

There’s easy access from the car park into the main house, and inside the house and bedrooms we have appropriate facilities.

Is there a space where I can get ready before my event?

Our Dressing Room has a hair-washing station, hairdryers and styling tools, as well as a shower. It’s ideally suited for hair stylists and make-up artists, and there’s enough room for groups too. Upstairs we also have our very own Barbers.

How do I choose my menu?

You’ll be invited to a private tasting at the house where you can sample your favourite dishes from our menus, alongside a selection of wine pairings.

Do you cater for children?

Absolutely. We’ve designed a special three-course menu for little ones.

Can we provisionally book a wedding date?

After you’ve visited the house, we’re happy to hold a date for up to five days without requiring a deposit.

What activities can you arrange for my event?

We have lots of options available, including yoga, pilates, movie nights, lawn games, foraging, cocktail making and wild cooking workshops. Get in touch with us at hello@kinhouse.co.uk to find out more, or let us know if you have something in mind.

How do I book an in-house workshop or class?

If you’ve booked an event with us, simply visit our ‘Do’ page to find out what’s on and click ‘Book A Spot’. You’ll be directed to our email — just let us know which workshop or class you’d like to join and we’ll reserve your place. If you’d like to join but haven’t booked an event, please follow the instructions above and let us know you’re a visitor.

Do I have to pay to attend an in-house workshop or class? Is there a limit on how many I can book?

If you’ve booked an event with us, you’re welcome to come to as many as you’d like for free! There will be a charge for visiting guests.
