We caught up with Emma Hill, the founder of fashion-favourite Damson Madder, to chat everything from their debut lifestyle collection to the secret of throwing an unforgettable party. Damson Madder hosted a countryside getaway at the house, bringing friends together for cocktail making, a kitchen-garden tour and a dinner party to celebrate their homeware launch. The night ended with guests curling up in Damson Madder’s new collection of PJs and retreating to our cosy bedrooms.
What inspired you to choose Kin House for your stay and which spaces were your favourites?
“We had seen Kin House on Instagram and felt that the interiors and vibe were really special, and felt super aligned with Damson Madder. We definitely weren’t disappointed – Fitz Bar was such a gorgeously intimate and cosy space for pre-dinner drinks, and our social team definitely enjoyed the dedicated dressing room – perfect for creating content!”
We’re very excited about the launch of your homeware line and have added some pieces to our house collection. Which is your favourite and what was the inspiration behind it?
“Our homeware and lifestyle range is super fun and exciting for us – it’s a space where we can take the best bits of our brand design handwriting and really run with it across new categories. A lot of the elements are inspired by our apparel collections, whether it’s signature print stories like leopard print, or bow details on the handles of mugs and vases. It’s hard to pick a favourite but we just love our adorable mug and saucer sets – perfect for a cuppa!”

During your stay you made some signature cocktails, could you share a recipe with us?
“We made two amazing cocktails but I think the team’s favourite was the Damson Sour which was a bit of a twist on a traditional sour using damson gin.”
Recipe:
25ml Six O’clock Damson Gin
25ml Burnt Faith Brandy
20ml Cherry Syrup
20ml Lemon Juice
Shake all the ingredients together with ice, pour into a rocks glass and garnish with a lemon wedge and red grape.
When planning an event, what do you consider essential for creating a memorable experience?
“Our community is so important to us as a brand, and every event we plan and host means so much to us. In terms of creating a memorable experience there’s only so much you can plan – really it always comes down to the people – and our Damson community always brings the best vibes.”
What’s on your must-have event checklist?
“A great venue always helps, and Kin House was the perfect backdrop to our most recent event. Amazing flowers (no Damson event is complete without statement floral displays), a cute outfit, and, of course, lots of food and drink are our essentials.”
