New for spring: The Garden House

We are working on something special in the Kin grounds this April and we can’t wait to show you. Here are six things to know about the new Garden House, ahead of its spring opening …

Georgian glory

The building we are transforming into our new Garden House was part of the original Georgian estate, connected by the walled garden. Kin House and its gardens were owned separately, but it was always part of our vision to bring the estate back together and restore it to its former glory.

Summer spirit

Inspired by the quintessential British summer house, our Garden House will be flooded with natural light, filled with greenery and planting — including an ancient fig tree — and even an original well.

Shell grotto 2.0

Since the shell grotto in the main house has been such a roaring success, we asked the artist behind it, Mel Campion, to come back to Kin to work her magic on the Garden House. Mel will be creating a decorative alcove using reclaimed terracotta plant pots — and we’re very excited about it.

Party time

The Garden House will be able to fit up to 200 guests for drinks receptions, or it can be used as a beautiful private dining space for 100, seated on one long table. Large vaulted doors will open up into the walled garden, so drinks receptions can spill outside on sunnier days.

Say ‘I Do’

It will be licensed to host your wedding ceremonies, as well as any rehearsal dinners the night before or recovery brunches you might want to organise for the following day.

Get creative

From floristry to ceramics and everything in between, the Garden House will also provide a light-filled space for creative classes and workshops throughout the year.
